Each year the Crawford Fund holds an international conference in Parliament House, Canberra on issues that focus attention and debate on a key aspect of food security and international agricultural research.
A near 20 year history of highly successful, well attended and nationally reported conferences means they hold a significant place in the Australian international development and agriculture calendar. These events would not be possible without the longstanding support from a range of organisations such as ACIAR, AusAID, DAFF, CSIRO, various Research and Development Corporations including the Grains Research and Development Corporation and the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation, and a range of international agricultural research centres.
From 2011, the Crawford Fund will be building on the success of the 20 years of its national Parliamentary Conferences to hold a State-based event. Our State Parliamentary Conferences will bring together decision-makers, researchers, agribusiness, farmers, educators, students and our stakeholders, with leading national and international experts to canvass and debate the issues, challenges and opportunities for developing countries and for Australia in ensuring a food secure world.
The inaugural Crawford Fund State Parliamentary Conference was held in Parliament House, Brisbane on 6 April 2011. More information can be found here
