Call for training applications from Northern Territory

March 26, 2014

The Northern Territory Committee of the Crawford Fund is pleased to announce a call for applications to support training in agricultural research for developing country scientists.

As one of our eight State and Territory Committees, The Northern Territory Committeee is looking to expand its activities, by calling for applications for training activities. Our geographical focus is eastern Indonesia, Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea, however high quality applications for other countries within the scope of the Australian aid program may be considered.

Applications need to be submitted by a Northern Territory based organisation or nominator, and can be carried out in the recipient country or in Australia. Activities that are co-funded, and those with a high participant to trainer ratio are preferred, but one to one training will also be considered.

Activities should address an existing and significant gap in research capability/ capacity/ techniques and or technologies identified in the recipient country R&D organisations.

The proposed activity should address capacity gaps in one of the following areas in the recipient country, and should be associated with a relevant national agricultural R&D organisation or program.

  • Crops
  • Livestock
  • Fisheries
  • Forestry

  • Natural resources and human health ( when impacted by agriculture)
  • Agricultural policy
