The Crawford Fund encourages greater recognition of the importance of international agricultural research (IAR) and development in Australia, and increased support for IAR by Australian government and non-government organisations. In addition, the Crawford Fund and its State programs support the training of international scientists and extension officers in agricultural development. A number of our State Committees also support annual funding awards for tertiary students.
The Queensland State Committee offers research funding awards for tertiary students. The purpose of the awards is to facilitate active student participation in IAR projects, in order to help them gain valuable international experience and expertise.
Two types of award are available: Honours Research Scholarships and Postgraduate Student Awards. Visit the Qld State Committee page for further information.
The Western Australia State Committee offers the opportunity for developing country scientists to work specifically with WA-based institutions in international agricultural research (IAR).
In addition, the committee offers an award for a young Western Australian honours or postgraduate student to add an international component to their work. This initiative assists tertiary students to participate in IAR projects and gain valuable perspectives and experiences in international agriculture.
The two types of awards offered are International Training and a Student International Agricultural Award. Visit the WA State Committee page for further information.
