Dr Jenny Hanks

Jenny completed degrees in Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt Uni, and Veterinary Public Health Management at the Uni of Sydney, finishing with a PhD in Vet Science at the Uni of Melbourne in 2021. Amongst all of this, between 2013 and 2017 she managed an ACIAR project “Improving livelihoods of small-scale livestock producers through research on animal production and health in the central dry zone of Myanmar”. She has also worked at ACIAR and CSU, taught at Uni of Melbourne, helped build RAID (Researchers in Agriculture in International Development) Network, and served on the Victorian and now the ACT Crawford Fund Committee. After her involvement with smallholder livestock farmers in Pakistan, Laos and Myanmar, Jenny was hooked on working in international agricultural research for development. She hopes to continue collaborating with local scientists on participatory one health research in rural communities in the Indo-Pacific.
