As part of a Global Food Systems Leadership Program hosted by The University of Queensland and funded by the Malaysian Government, 22 senior government officials from various Malaysian public service departments recently visited Canberra for a professional development experience focused on sustainable agriculture.
As part of the program, The Crawford Fund for Food Security’s (CFFS) Chair, Su McCluskey, and Chief Operating Officer, Sarah Paradice presented to the group.

As a passionate advocate for Australian agriculture, and the nation’s commitment to sustainability, food security, biosecurity, trade and market access and productivity growth, Su shared her experiences as a farmer, experienced senior business executive, including as Interim CEO for NFF, and company director.
Sarah focused on the activities of the CFFS including our Master Classes, state committee-led training programs, NextGen programs and more.
“This was a fantastic opportunity to not only talk about Australian agriculture and it’s world-leading policies and practices, but also to introduce the group to the important work of the Crawford Fund for Food Security in Australia and the region,” said Su.
Led by Professor Ammar Abdul Aziz, Director, School of Agriculture and Food Sustainability at the University of Queensland, the GFS Leadership Program is a collaboration of The University of Queensland International Development (UQID) and School of Agriculture and Food Sustainability (AGFS).
The 28-week course program on food security focuses on the policies, food science, climate change, gender and inclusion, value chain, food sustainability, systems thinking, community engagement, and its application.
Su previously addressed the GFS Leadership Program when it hosted an Indonesian Climate-Smart Agriculture cohort.
