Qld Seminar: Doing well by doing good

Doing well by doing good: engaging young scientists in agricultural research was a seminar and networking event in part to engage young Australians  in agricultural research for development. It was also an occasion to discuss the benefits to Queensland and Australia from aid-funded agricultural research.

The program included:

  • Professor Kaye E. Basford, Crawford Fund Board Member and President, Academic Board of the University of Queensland
  • Mrs Sallyanne Atkinson, outgoing Chair of the Crawford Fund Queensland Committee and former Lord Mayor of Brisbane
  • Dr Nick Austin, Chief Executive, Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research

And a panel discussion of young and not-so-young scientists on their study and career experiences in agriculture and hopes for the future.
