Annual Conference Postponed to December

July 1, 2021

Food & Nutrition Security – The Biosecurity, Health, Trade Nexus

After close consultation with the Crawford Fund board, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our flagship event, our Annual Conference, from 23-24 August to 13-14 December 2021 because of the general anxiety and current uncertainty that Covid is causing. We feel rescheduling now will provide us all with the best opportunity for a safe and successful event at a time when many more of us will have been vaccinated for safer travel and less likelihood of lockdowns.

While we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience, the health and safety of the Crawford Fund community is of utmost importance to us and we hope you agree this is the most prudent course. Uppermost in our minds is the impact that a last-minute postponement will have had on everyone’s plans and purses.

We sincerely hope that all current registrants will be able to make the new date and we will be contacting all of them to reorganise arrangements. Our stated policy around postponement is that “If the event is postponed due to COVID-19, the Crawford Fund will hold all payments made, and transfer them to the new event dates, if an individual or company decides not to participant in the new event, a full refund will be paid.”

Part of the reason for the timing in December is to fit in with the exam periods around the country to ensure that our ~50 conference scholars can still attend.

We are currently in contact with the speakers on our program, many of whom have already kindly made the leap from the 2020 conference to 2021 and hope to announce very soon if there are any changes to the program for December.

We remain excited to host the conference in December and will get back with more information as arrangements progress.

If you have not yet registered, we will be making the required changes to our registration site.

Thank you for your continued support and interest and we do hope to see you in December for what promises to be our usual interesting event, the highlight of Australia’s agricultural development and food security calendar, again bringing an issue worthy of global and Australian attention.
