June 22, 2023

The Crawford Fund is very proud to release the latest offering in its NextGen video series.

This video is a must-watch for the next generation of agriculture for development researchers and scientists looking to play a key role in changing the future of our food systems!

Discover why it is important to transform food systems and consider getting involved in impactful projects driving positive change toward achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The video features amazing young Australian talent in the field of agriculture for development:

  • Matt Armstrong – ACIAR Research Officer and RAID Network Committee Member
  • Millicent Smith – Lecturer at The University of Queensland and Crawford Fund NextGen Supervisor
  • Ollie Gales – Rhodes Scholar and Policy Officer at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and Crawford Fund 2019 Student Awardee

We would like to thank our very talented and passionate young voices, and of course thank ACIAR for their on-going support of our NextGen Program.

Our earlier NextGen videos focused on:

  • NextGen’rs who are involved in agricultural research for development relating to our seven teaching modules for secondary students around Australia. The first video focused on climate change and food and nutrition security, gender dimensions in agriculture and Australia as a powerhouse of agricultural research. Thesecond video looked at careers related to our food loss and waste, climate-smart technologies and climate change and food and nutrition security curriculum materials.
  • The benefits of a career in agriculture for development and the variety of pathways to a career in agriculture for development.
