Student Award applications – second round offer for NSW, WA & VIC

May 30, 2022

2019 Crawford Fund Student Awardee, Valentin Thépot

We are calling for second round applications from university students from NSW, WA & VIC. We accept applications from students in Australian universities studying agriculture, animal production, fisheries, forestry, natural resource management or any area related to food and nutrition security.

Our student awards help you bring an international component to your studies and research and enable you to gain valuable practical experience in a developing country. We proudly support the NextGen with each of our State and Territory Committees providing student award opportunities to university students in their regions.

We appreciate that the hesitation about COVID-19 may be holding some potential applicants back, but please contact the Crawford Fund State Committee representative in your jurisdiction to discuss any travel or logistical queries you may have.

These awards have been developed specifically to enable your practical, feet-on-the-ground, involvement in an overseas project as part of your university studies. Some students are working with overseas colleagues to get their projects done, where travel is still impeded.

The closing date for this second round of applications is COB, Friday 29 July 2022.

We strongly recommend you read the general background information before you start your application. The short online application form will require you to attach:

  • a brief CV
  • a budget outline
  • the signatures of, or a supporting note from, the Authorised Officers approving your application
  • details of at least one referee.

Apply online here, and take a look at the suggested reporting guidelines for an idea of what is expected once the experience is over.

The conditions and requirements for the State and Territory Committees’ awards differ.

Please check arrangements for each committee’s awards, provided on the committee’s webpage and contact our coordinators as per below. The coordinators of the relevant committees considering applications welcome any inquiries you may have.

Good luck!
