Su McCluskey reflects on challenges, opportunities and future success for Australian agriculture

Su McCluskey, a Crawford Fund Board Director, will reflect on her four years as the inaugural Special Representative for Australian Agriculture, at an upcoming National Rural Press Club event in Canberra. As an influential voice for agriculture, she will outline the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and focus on what will set Australian agriculture up for success in the future.

Appointed as the inaugural Special Representative for Australian Agriculture in 2021, Su has been a passionate advocate for Australian agriculture, our commitment to sustainability, food security, biosecurity, trade and market access and productivity growth. She has traversed the world engaging with agricultural and policy leaders and like minded economies, presenting at global events on climate change and sustainability and has cemented Australia’s position as a global agricultural leader.

Su is an experienced senior business executive and company director with a strong background in agricultural policy, production and research. Su is also a cattle producer, a Director of LiveCorp and the Australasian Pork Research Institute, as well as a member of the CSIRO Food and Agriculture Advisory Group and an ATSE Fellow. She was also recently a Commissioner for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) responsible for providing expert, strategic advice to the Foreign Affairs Minister on priorities for Australia’s international agricultural research program.

The event will be moderated by Gabrielle Chan, journalist, columnist, author, and National Rural Press Club President.
