Professor Louise Fresco presented the Sir John Crawford Memorial Address this year. Her address was entitled ‘The Future of Our Food’.

Louise Fresco is President of Wageningen University and Research Centre, one of the leading research institutes worldwide in the field of food, agriculture and life sciences.

Louise served as Assistant Director-General for Food and Agriculture of the UN’s FAO in Rome, conducted field work in over 50 developing countries, served on the supervisory board of Rabobank, serves on the Board of Unilever and is also a published author and documentary maker.

Louise’s latest book is ‘Hamburgers in Paradise—The stories behind the food we eat’ by Princeton University Press. It follows decades of research and explains how science has enabled us to overcome past scarcities and why we have every reason to be optimistic about the future.

The 2016 Sir John Crawford Memorial Address and Networking Dinner were held on the evening of Monday 29 August. Our specially styled networking dinner enables participants to meet colleagues and make new connections with a wide variety of peers from across industries and regions in an enjoyable and relaxed format.
